The Bold Italic

The Bold Italic was a landmark San Francisco publication that chronicled innovating storytelling in and about the Bay Area, combined with daily news and culture.

I was lucky enough to work as a contributing writer, and occasional editor, with the freedom to have my work published daily, from short stories to casual musings to opinion and humor.

The Bold Italic closed its doors in 2015, and although it ultimately changed hands and reopened, none of the core staff or spirit came with it. Here are some of my favorite pieces I got to do for them, and where I did the most growth as a writer and journalist.
